On January 15, 2012, Dagny C. Gullerud passed this earthly life to join her Heavenly Father, surrounded by family and friends.

Born on June 29, 1912, in Tracy, MN, Dagny’s parents were Pastor Olaf Gullerud and Sarah Gullerud (nee Tyssen). Dagny was educated at Bethany Lutheran College and South Dakota State University in Brookings.

She taught high school Home Economics and General Science in South Dakota, Upper Michigan, Chicago, Bethany Lutheran College and St. Claire, MN. After moving to Eau Claire in 1968, she also taught adult classes at CVTC. She was also an accomplished pianist and church organist.

Dagny is preceded in death by: both parents; brothers, Ahlert, C.M., and Alfred; and sisters, Lois Jordahl and Adele Pfeiffer. She is survived by one brother, Arvid, and many loving nieces and nephews, including Ruth Gullerud, her niece, housemate and soul mate.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 18 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road, Eau Claire. Inurnment will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday morning, January 19, 2012 at Rest Haven Cemetery, 5750 Old Town Hall Road, Eau Claire, WI 54701 with a Victory Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2015 N. Hastings Way Eau Claire, WI 54703.

Family would like to thank Mayo Clinic Home Hospice for all the wonderful care they gave Dagny “especially Kristine and Sandy” and also all her caregivers who have become part of the family.

Family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be given to CLC Mission Development Fund, ILC Building Fund, or United Cerebral Palsy.
