Joseph G. Menard, age 88 of Eau Claire passed away Tuesday morning December 20, 2011 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
He was born February 22, 1923, the son of George and Sadie (Sherman) Menard at Ismay, Montana. They moved back to Eau Claire, and then to Fairchild, WI where he graduated from high school and worked in the Farmers Store. He married Evelyn Kohn August 1, 1945 and they celebrated 66 years of marriage.
They moved to Eau Claire, WI where he worked at Armour Co. for 36 years and then retired in 1983.

Faith was the foundation of his life. When he was well, he attended mass every morning. Summertime meant hours in the garden and when the last pine needle was bagged he rested with puzzles and reading.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Evelyn, one daughter, Jolene (Fred) Miller, grandson, Joseph Miller (Jennifer Koestler), all of Eau Claire and sisters, Agnes (John) Greene, MN and Josephine Triggs of Washington.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Leonard and sisters, Doris and Frances.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1712 Highland Avenue, Eau Claire, WI 54701 at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 26, 2011 with Father Eugene Klink, Monsignor Edmund Klimek and Father Rich Roemer officiating. Visitation will be held Monday morning at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Entombment will take place in the Chapel of the Resurrection Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery in Eau Claire immediately following the Mass. Memorials may be given in Joseph's name and memory to the St. Francis Food Pantry, 1221 Truax Blvd, Eau Claire, WI 54703. Friends may offer condolences online at www.fullerspeckienhulke.com.
