Dale Robert Wiesen , age  68, of Eau Claire, passed away peacefully with his wife and  children at his side on Friday,  December 23, 2011 in Eau Claire.

Dale was born in Duluth Minnesota on January 21, 1943  the son of the late Robert and Ruth (Durfee) Wiesen.  He grew up in Duluth on Park Point and he had brought his family up there to  share his home many times. He had many stories to tell of his family history and tales of lighthouses and ships.

He proudly served in the Special Forces, as a Green  Beret in Vietnam, receiving a Purple Heart for his efforts. Dale enjoyed many things throughout his life: reading, watching movies, fishing, going to concerts, cooking, Packers, Badgers, Chicago Blackhawks , but his most prized possessions were his wife and children.  He worked at the Prison in Waupun, Wisconsin until an injury required him to retire.

Dale left on this earth, his wife of 33 years, Jean, a daughter, Shiloh (Bryan Langgaard ), a son, Hunter, mother-in-law, Anna Mae Craker, a brother, Donald,  sisters Mari Jo and Roberta Ann and another daughter, Kimberly, and best friend  David Schone . He also was anxiously awaiting the birth of grandson, Adrian Hunter Langgaard , for whom he is now a guardian angel.

He was reunited with his parents, Ruth and Robert, father-in-law, Lee Craker, a daughter, Kathleen and best friend Tommy Beahm, with whom he can now have beer and shots of Southern Comfort with.

A memorial gathering will be held at Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home, 3209  Rudolph Road, Eau Claire, on Friday, December 30, 2011 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Friends and family may also leave online condolences at www.fullerspeckienhulke.com. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent in Dale's name to the Eau Claire County Humane Association, 3900 Old Town Hall Road, Eau Claire, WI 54701. Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home is assisting the family.
